Our Daily Prayer for Tuesday - Sis. Lakeisha Singleton

“Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel therefore I urged you to imitate me.”

1 Corinthians 4:15-16 NIV

Scripture & Prayer Submitted by: Sis. Lakeisha Singleton

"Blessed By His Leadership; A Tribute to My Spiritual Father"

We all have a biological father, but do we all have a spiritual father? In April 2001, my husband and I was married by Rev. Kwamena D. Amos, the pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Little did I know at that time, Rev. Amos would become my spiritual father, pastor, and mentor.

Rev. Amos taught me that there is an order to serving God and leading his people. For several years, I served under his tutelage as his lay leader (assistant) and treasurer. I’m grateful and blessed that he gave me an opportunity to serve God’s children and to be in his service.

Rev. Amos demonstrated that through it all we must continue to do God’s work. Many of us watched him persevere through sickness, hardships, and religious bureaucracy. Approximately ten years ago, Rev. Amos decided to return to his native home in Ghana, West Africa, where he lived until he transitioned to his heavenly home on April 2, 2022.

Lord, I thank and praise you for my spiritual father, Rev. Kwamena D. Amos, who has gone on to be with you. We lift up a prayer of comfort for his wife, children, and grandchildren. We are thankful and grateful for the eighty-two years that you gave Rev. Amos. We thank you Lord for the gospel that he preached and for the Christian life that he lived. It is through the gospel that he became my spiritual father. Now Lord, Rev. Amos is resting with you, his Abba father. In Jesus name.

Amen

“In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.

Psalms 4:8 NIV

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

2 Thessalonians 3:16 NIV

Scripture & Prayer submitted by: Millie McFarland

Eternal Father, my Prince of Peace, I worship and adore you for who you are. I lift your Holy name on high and I exalt you. Father, I thank you for living in me and giving me peace that surpasses all understanding.

Father, I lift up every person that may be going through some trying times or facing anxiety due to the chaos we are facing in this world today. I call on you my Prince of Peace, to bestow your precious peace on each of them. Be with them daily and as they lay down give them a sweet sleep that only your peace can give. Let them abide under your wings and reassure them that they are safe. Father, I place my trust in you and I pray that each of them can find that hope, trust and peace in you.

Father, I thank you for your love, that embraces me daily; for I know what unconditional love is in you. I thank you for hearing my prayers and for your reassuring peace that keeps me grounded. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray.

Amen

Our Daily Prayer for Monday - Millie McFarland

“Commit your way to the Lord,

Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.”

Psalms 37:5 NKJV

Scripture & Prayer submitted by: Millie McFarland

Eternal God, loving Father, we thank you for your guidance and your protection; we thank you for who you are. Father, we lift your Holy name on high.

Father, as we try to get our lives on track; some are feeling anxious and overwhelmed. Father, we pray that you give each a sense of love and peace that no man can take away. Reassure them that you have it all under control, and if they put their trust in you, everything will be alright. Restore their hope and their faith in you; as the enemy has tried to diminish their belief in you. Father, we come against the devices of the enemy that may attack their minds. Cover them with your blood and protect them from the darts of the enemy.

Father, we don't always understand why we go through things, but we know you have a plan and a purpose for our life. So we cast all our doubts and fears at your feet. I ask that you instil in us the power of prayer, love, faith, service, gratitude and endurance. Teach us Lord, to trust and depend on you.

Father, thank you for loving us and giving us the gift of salvation, through your Son Jesus Christ. Thank you for never leaving or forsaking us; at every moment of our existence you are present with your love and compassion. Teach us Lord, to be more like you; teach us to pray for one another and to draw strength through your word.

Father, we thank you for your love and we thank you for your keeping power. Father we trust in you; we honor you and we lay this prayer at your feet. In Jesus Mighty name we pray.

Amen
