Our Daily Prayer for Saturday - Maria Guzman

"But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it."

James 1:22-25 NLT

Theme Obedience

Scripture and prayer submitted by Maria Guzman

Lord Jesus,

Thank you for your word, the Bible, our life manual to live by. Today's verses are a reminder that we cannot just listen to the Word, we need to do what it says (obey). If there are those reading this prayer who have been just listening to your word and not obeying, forgive them and teach them to obey for when they do, we know that you will bless them for doing so.

"37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]" Matthew 37-39 NLT

Lord Jesus, thank you that you left us commandments to follow. An example is loving you with all our hearts, all of our souls, and all of our minds. In addition to this, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Help us to be obedient children and obey these commandments in our daily lives as we walk in obedience to your word.

Help us to live our lives in alignment with you. Again we ask you to help us to be doers of your word and not just hearers. We ask your Holy Spirit to guide us daily as we embrace obedience. May every decision we make be in alignment with your instructions in your Word. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Our Daily Prayer for Tuesday - Rev. Maulin Vanderburgh

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince.”

Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

Scripture & Prayer Submitted by: Rev. Maulin Vanderburgh

"Jesus our Counselor"

Reflection:

Isaiah's prophecy in this chapter spoke of hope of better times and things God has in store for Israel (Judah). This prophecy came at a time when Judah felt hopeless because of their enemies. They desperately needed wisdom and peace; these would have been traits they greatly desired in a leader. They were not sure if God was for them or had abandoned them. This prophecy also reminded them that the Sovereign God had not forsaken them. He sent His son Jesus through whom they would receive His promises of better things for them. As Counselor, godly wisdom would be imparted to them along with love and tender care.

As the Christmas season draws near may we acknowledge and embrace the fact that Jesus the Counselor is the reason for the season.

Prayer:

Righteous and Eternal Father, blessed be your Holy Name. You are worthy to be praised. You are Holy, you are the One who was and is and is to come. You are the Omnipotent one, the Omnipresent one and the Omniscient one. (YOU are all powerful, You are always present and You know all things.) Lord you know the end from the beginning.

I thank you for this new day and all the new mercies accompanying it. Thank you for sending your only begotten Son Jesus to be our propitiatory sacrifice. Because He lives I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know who holds the future and life is worth the living just because he lives. I thank you that He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.

Lord Jesus, as Counselor I am confident that you will impart to me godly wisdom daily and more so in my time of need. As we embark upon this Christmas season help us to realize that You are the reason for the season. You were born to give us hope when we were a people hopeless and in despair.

I pray especially for those suffering from anxiety, help them to look to you and find solace. As we become encumbered with the busyness of the season help us to pause and reflect on the fact that not only are you Counselor, but that you are Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.

I pray for those who have lost love ones. This season is an especially difficult time for us. Help us to look to you as Counselor, and receive wisdom, comfort and strength that you will impart to us as a reminder that you will never leave us nor forsake us.

I pray that others reading this prayer will be touched by you in a special way.

Thank you Father for hearing and answering this prayer in the precious name of Jesus.

Amen

Padre eterno y justo, bendito sea tu Santo Nombre.

Our Daily Prayer for Wednesday - Rev. Roland Brown

“But now thus saith the Lord that created you, O Jacob, and he that formed you, O Israel, fear not for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name.”

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you, when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindled upon you.”

Isaiah 43:1-2 (NIV)

Scripture & Prayer submitted by:  Rev. Roland Brown

Our Sovereign God, maker of heaven and earth; in the name of your Son Jesus, I come before your holy presence. I give you glory and honor; I worship and bow down before you; from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Thank you for your many blessings, for your faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness O God.

I pray Heavenly Father, that you will stretch forth your mighty hand and touch everyone who is in need of a touch from you.
I pray, that your Holy Spirit will move upon the land; across every nation, and that you will meet every need of your people.

Holy Father, as we face the crisis that is now present there are many who are feeling hopeless, and are searching for the answer. I pray that your Holy Spirit will move in a mighty way, and that He will bring conviction to their heart.

Dear God, we need a divine intervention from you; I pray that you will touch every family; I ask, that you will comfort those who have lost love ones and heal those who are sick.

In the name of Jesus, the Name that is above every name; that you will send a mighty Revival upon the land, in the four corners of the earth. I pray Lord Jesus, that your Spirit will cover the earth as the water covers the sea. These blessings and mercies I ask in Jesus name.
Amen!!
