Speak Life! - Ayileru Morton

Hope Contributor: Ayileru Morton

Most people are afraid of death because it seems so inevitable and terminal. Death is referred to as the last enemy to be destroyed (1 Cor 15:26). However, as Christians we must not view death as the world views it. Through Jesus, we have victory over death (1 Cor15:57; Acts 2:24)

Moreover, the bible warns us that death and life are in the power of the tongue...(Prov 18:21)

How do you avoid speaking death?

Be mindful of what comes out of your mouth, and more importantly what goes into your heart. Why the heart? Jesus says that it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles us but what comes out of the mouth (Matt 15:11).

Also, He warns, that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Lk 6:45)

Therefore, what is in your heart, comes out of your mouth and could defile you if it is not something positive.

Furthermore, we are advised to guard our heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life (Prov 4:23). Let your heart be filled with God's Word.

Read it! Listen to it! Meditate on it! Speak it!

When you do that, then what comes out of your mouth will be Life.

Let's look at the Shunammite woman (2 Kings 4)

She said, "it is well" even when she faced the enemy 'death' which most people would have considered 'the end'. She declared continuously that it was well! This woman spoke out of the abundance of her heart. She spoke life.

Therefore speak life!

The words I speak to you are spirit and life, Jesus said (Jn 6:63).

So we must speak the Word!

Believe the Word!

God's Word is truth!

And it shall be well!

It is expedient, especially during this time that we speak life.

Some might accuse, insult or ridicule you!

But do not let that stop you!

The important thing is,

That you are a child of your father.

And you do what you see your father do

He calls things that be not as though they are (Rom 4:17

IT IS WELL!

Heavenly Father we come before you in praise and Thanksgiving. We ask for mercy for all our transgressions.  We stand on your Word because we are your people and we speak life over our nation. You said if your people who are called by your name shall humble themselves, pray, seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways, then would you hear from heaven and will forgive our sin and heal our land. Lord, we speak life into personal situations. You said if we call upon you, you will answer us and shew us great and mighty things. Thank you, Lord, for Your Word, in Jesus' name we have prayed. AMEN!.
