In A World Facing Turmoil, There Is Peace - Millie McFarland

Hope contributor: Millie Macfarland

The past few weeks have become chaotic in the world we are now navigating in. There is so much going on that is beyond our control. Coronavirus has affected so many in different ways. Sickness to some, isolation, financial burdens, and even mental health issues to countless others. Because of this, the world finds itself with added turmoil. There is a sense of scrambling taking place as people struggle with a very new “normal”, steps are being taken as new answers become a daily routine, there are so many seeking answers and looking for remedies to try and contain the spread of this even further.

As I sit back and ponder on everything that is going on; I look to the Hills from which cometh my help and I pray and ask God for guidance. I pray for all those struggling and living in fear because of what is going on. The word clearly tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

So yes, to use precautions is wisdom, but we are not called to live in fear. Fear will cause distress, as well as anxiety and it will bring discord among people. We need to have faith and believe that God will see us thru and this too shall pass.

The bible tells us in John 16:33 NIV “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you may have trouble. But take heart I have overcome the world”.

This should be our comfort, He has already overcome this world. We need to trust that He; our Savior, our Creator has everything under control. He will take care of us. He will bring peace in the middle of this chaos.

In closing; I leave this verse with you: Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. So stand on the word of Almighty God and know that everything is going to be alright.
