Our Daily Prayer for Saturday - Tamika Wells

“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.” ‘So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’”

Luke 15:17-21 NLT

Dedicated to mothers whose family members struggle with addiction and/or mental health issues.

Food for thought:

It’s not personal. What do I mean? We as mother’s and women tend to take on all of someone else’s responsibilities and weaknesses as our own, as if it is all our fault. I’m here to free you today. It’s not all you! You have done, and are doing the best you can with what you’ve been given. We trust God for the rest!

The prodigal son had to “come to his senses.” He had to have a heart change. Many times our loved ones want you to do the inner work for them and place the blame and the burden on you. But honestly, no matter how tough the mental illness, disability or addiction, God knows what measure that human soul can carry. And it is okay to set healthy boundaries, expectations, and consequences for that loved one.

Even when it hurts our loving, mothering heart to watch them go through or struggle. But that’s how a butterfly gets its strength to fly, is by struggling to get out of the cocoon. If we coddle them, baby them, or cut them out, they will not have the strength to fly. Lord, give us wisdom and strength!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, first and foremost, we lay down our expectations of our loved ones at Your feet. You created them and You know their path. You know what You’ve placed on the inside of them and You know how to cultivate it.

We let go of the lie that it is all our fault and nail guilt and shame to the Cross! You don’t always rescue us from every hard lesson we need to learn in life, but it is so painful as a responsible, loving parent to watch. The unknown can drive us crazy at times. All the things that run through our minds when we don’t hear from our lost loved ones or we hear what they are going through. Especially our adult children, yet, You are still in control. And we can pray for peace and Your divine intervention.

We pray that You order the steps of our loved ones to the right programs and support for all of their needs. We know that even when they are grown, it still takes a village to raise a child. We ask You for a God-ordained community to surround and support our loved ones on their path to purpose. We pray for a humbled heart in them. Take the heart of stone out of them and give them a heart of flesh, tender and sensitive to Your voice and Your Word.

We pray that even if they are in a strange land, that You will continue to cover and keep them. Send us Aarons and Hurs to uphold us as we stand in the gap for them. Lord, be the Rock we continually lean on! Jehovah Nissi, be the banner of victory over every situation and soul! May they humbly come back home so we can rejoice with the angels! So we can all stand before you in Heaven and say on that great day,

“Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel From the Lord of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion.”

Isaiah 8:18 NKJV

In Jesus’ name, we pray,

Amen

Our Daily Prayer for Fathers Day - Pastor Caleb Rodriguez

“Have we not all one Father?
Has not one God created us?
Why do we deal treacherously with one another
By profaning the covenant of the fathers?”

Malachi 2:10 (NKJV)

Scripture & Prayer submitted by: Pastor Caleb Rodriguez

Dear Heavenly Father, your Word teaches us that we are all your children by creation (Gen. 1:26-28), and You do not want us to treat each other treacherously, but rather expect all human beings to deal equitably with one another.

It is quite evident that racism, bigotry and hatred seem to be running rampant in our society today. The world may try to identify all kinds of different reasons as to why all of this may be occurring & some have very valid points of reasoning that we do not overlook. However, in searching the Scriptures we know that “sin” is the major cause of mankind’s issues & failures!!! Sin separates us from God. Sin causes people to deal treacherously with one another and this leads to profaning the covenant of our spiritual leaders & forefathers. This is why we pray that all of Your children by creation would repent of their sins; come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and truly become Your children by “adoption” as it says in Romans 8:14-16

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God…

As it is also confirmed in Galatians 4:5-7:

5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Then and only then, can Your Holy Spirit produce the fruit of Godly love, in your adopted children; which will enable them to truly love their neighbor as themselves and not deal treacherously with one another!!!

May we yield our hearts and wills to our Lord, always. We ask these things in the Matchless Name of Jesus.

Amen!!!
