“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.”
Daniel 6:3 KJV

Food for thought:
A Spirit of Excellence:
Excellence in its true definition is an outstanding feature of quality. In the book of Daniel 6:3 the writer states “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm”. I am sure that all of us would desire this testimony over our own lives. As Christians we have the understanding that excellence in God does not require perfection. God looks beyond our imperfections and sees the desire we have to give him our very best. It is only then can we share with Daniel in this accolade.
Our prayer each day should be that God would help each of us to give our very best in service to him, and to perform each task with the intent of excellence.
Prayer:
God as we face the challenges of this day, help us to give you our very best. We realize from our imperfect vessels flows a sincere desire to serve you with a spirit of excellence. Give us the grace to face the challenges and the confidence that you will make up the difference in what we lack.
In Jesus Name!
Amen
