When God Is More Than Able, Surrender

But I am poor and sorrowful;
Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high.
I will praise the name of God with a song,
And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bull,
Which has horns and hooves.
The humble shall see this and be glad;
And you who seek God, your hearts shall live.
— Psalm 69:29-32

Why is it that we spend so much time figuring out the situation that we see as impossible?  Part of the enemy’s plan is to keep us distracted and constantly having to defend our spiritual position.  He whispers that the situation is far too big for us to handle, that we are weak and helpless.

I stood once at the alter a few years ago and there I pled with my Lord to bring healing to my illness.  I was confident in my petition as my sisters in Christ prayed all around me in solidarity.  Suddenly I heard the Lords voice that through the voices of the prayers penetrated my soul.

“Why do you serve a God you do not feel is able”?  It stopped me in my tracks, and I thought about what I had just been asked.  I answered, “I believe you are able”.  His answer was swift and direct, “then surrender”.

Do you find yourself holding on to situations and hardships and trying to resolve them in your own strength?  What are you holding onto that is hindering your complete surrender to the God that knew you when you were a speck in the distance of time?  What lie are you believing the enemy about?  Jesus has assured us that he delivers, there is nothing too big for him, yet we put him and his ability in a box that holds our limited imagination and hinders him from the miracles he knows he can deliver.

Test him out, go to his throne today and take your situation with you to his alter, give the burden over to him.  Leave the trouble at his feet and in his, more than capable hands.  Pray your prayer of thanksgiving as you leave it there and surrender it to him.
