What does it mean to be Gritty in the Lord?
Gritty people are those that the Lord is seeking in the last days. These people have a fire in them that is not easily quenched. They have the determination to reject the enemy’s story of who they are. They refuse to give up their pens and allow their outcome to be someone else’s narrative.
There is a sense of knowing as well as struggle in the place they stand, their wounds still damp and some still oozing. They can tell you where they have been and what they have experienced there, but they can also tell you that what they are looking for now is the promise.
Gritty people are not looking back at the past because they have allowed God to lead them by the hand into a whole new path. Proverbs and Psalms speaks of the two paths in the course of life, the one that leads to light and the other that descends to darkness and death.
When you hear the testimony given by Gritty people, it is often wrought with ugly stories of survival and generational curses. Gritty people can show you countless examples of the cruelty, and often abandonment, they have endured. They have lived long and hard relying on their Grit to survive that same darkness.
With one touch or one word, Gritty people came to recognize kindness through a God-fearing individual or a visit to a church. They felt the tangible love of Our Creator and now have changed the entire trajectory of their lives. Gritty people want more from God and they adamantly seek him.
It is not about where they were from but it is all about where they are headed. They do not wish to be judged based upon the family or lifestyle they used to belong to, but instead by the family and lifestyle they now belong to.
They often use their skills in the Kingdom and allow God to reign over their actions and lives. They do not want to be defined by their past but rather look for new ways to redefine the future. Gritty believers are more concerned with the eternal things of the Lord than whatever trivial things the world is concerned about at the moment.
Gratefulness defines how they relate to our God of promises and they are hungry to share this awesome gift of salvation with the world they left behind. Gritty people are wise because they already know that in order to bring the harvest, they must come to the masses as Jesus came to them; without judgement and with a whole lot of love.
Once you have surrendered to the Lord, trust in Him. Let Him guide you and minister to you because He longs to heal you and deliver you. At the foot of the Master is the only place a Gritty person can truly find peace.
