In The Shadow Of The Cross - Grace

Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant,
And Israel whom I have chosen.
Thus says the Lord who made you
And formed you from the womb, who will help you:
‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant;
And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
And floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,
And My blessing on your offspring;
— Isaiah 44:1-3

Remember you have His spirit within you.  Angels sent to encamp around you.  Jesus Christ interceding for you.  You have God’s Grace to sustain you in any storm.  PEACE / Jehovah Shalom.

The sooner we can grasp this truth the sooner we can fully receive His endless sustaining Grace, it is freely given and in abundance.  We must learn to lean on it and trust it.  Once we have done this.  We will be able to impart this knowledge to others who are hungrily seeking, waiting for something to give in their lives.  His Grace is not something we have to earn.

 2 Corinthians 12:9 is a promise again made to us, And He said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ my rest upon me.”  Grace drenches you, it can give you supernatural abilities, it can bring to your heart an inexplicable sense of peace and an unmovable resolve to trust this God of yours.  He can do that, if there is no doubt in His abilities.

Psalms 46:10 speaks to the people of God telling them they are always secure, no matter what may be occurring around them.  Turmoil, pestilence, famine, darkness, and despair – God is our ever-present defender and sovereign ruler of the earth and all of His people in it.  It is a command from God to his people, His power can be seen in just his whisper, his command to the waters to be still and they instantly obeyed, is proof of this power.  How amazing is this reminder!

The people of God must stop what they are doing and begin to acknowledge that the same God that gave his only begotten Son as a lamb for the redemption of our sins is the same Grace that saw us in darkness and pointed us to the light that in turn rescued us. With that same Grace he also promised to throw all of our past, all of our mess and ugliness into the sea of forgetfulness.  He reassures us that we can walk free from our darkest moments of sin and live in an ever-bathing light of His love and plan for us.

Even when we find ourselves in the valley, Grace takes on an added dimension.  Sustaining Grace meets us there, at the very point of weakness, when we are staring at the hardship, illness, loss of a loved one or watching our lost child stumble in their own darkness.  This same Grace equips us with courage, wisdom and strength.

God promises not the absence of trouble, instead that He will be in the middle of what we need to carry us through.  Take all of your fears and doubts, your anxieties, your bondage of unforgiveness and sin to the very foot of the cross.  Leave them there.  His Grace covers us in the very shadow of the cross.
