A Place At The Masters Table

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
— Psalm 139:23-24 NKJV

We try to really own the verse that we are, “fearfully and wonderfully” made, sometimes we actually believe it.  We grasp moments in this knowing place, but we do not stay tuned for very long.  Unfortunately, we usually live with the thoughts that we are not enough, we set up parameters that are unrealistic for us to live up to.  Many times, when we do not get our hearts desire, we begin to not trust the plan that God has for our lives.

There are times when doing good can burn us out.  When we may lack the tangible presence of God, as the season of promises seem not to manifest, and we cannot hear his voice.  We may ask ourselves “God where are you”?  Faith firmly set on Christ, is patient and never rushes, for faith leaves the timing of all things in God’s hands.

God is calling us as believers to forge a path in darkness, in a world that has false doctrines and no real direction.  We are charged with leading others to the light as we become path illuminators.   We must guard our flesh, as the enemy lurks in every area of our walk, waiting to strike at our thoughts and heart.

In order to be fully effective, we must be intentional in our relationship with Christ.  We have to be willing and able to surrender all of ourselves to his direction and plan.  We must be malleable, willing to be molded by our Master.

The journey is both exciting and daunting and if we stay the course, we will reap the final reward and that is to have a permanent place at the master’s table to fellowship with this great God for all eternity.    Take up your cross, let us be bold and see what the Lord has in store for us.

I am excited by the thought!
