Our Daily Prayer for Sunday - Rev. George F. Nixon

For the mountain shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.
— Isaiah 54:10 (KJV)

Scripture & Prayer submitted by: Reverend George F. Nixon

Heavenly Father, I give you thanks and praise today not only because of what you have done, or what you are going to do, but just because you are God and Sovereign Lord over all.

I approach your throne of grace with a heart that is filled with thanksgiving because I have seen your mighty hand at work in my life during these tumultuous times.

You have sustained us and provided what we needed during a time of lack, you have protected and given life in the midst of death, you have healed and restored many from sickness and diseases, you have kept us moving forward with a great sense of hope even when we could not see our way, but we held on to your unchanging hands with determined faith; and we have seen the miraculous on many occasions.

Lord you are our sustainer; our trust is in you. We will walk by faith and not by sight or by the difficult things we are seeing and hearing all around us. You are our provider, Jehovah Jireh.

Your word tells us in Psalms 68:19 the following:

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah”

Lord, I pray for healing today for those who are sick. I pray for financial breakthrough where there is lack. Lord, I pray that you will comfort the broken hearted and restore joy and peace to their minds. Lord, I pray that you will make a way where there seems to be no way for many today.

Lord, restore peace to every family that is in crisis and strengthen the Fathers to lead their families with Godly wisdom during these difficult days. Remember Lord, our great country that is currently in turmoil, we need your divine intervention to bring forth a peaceful resolution to these mounting issues we are facing.

Lord, let us be Christlike in nature, always bearing the fruits of the Spirit demonstrating love and peace to all men. These are unprecedented times where everything that we use to know as normal is ever changing, but let us be reminded that we serve a God that never changes. That is why today I am confidently optimistic that my future is secure and all is going to be well because your word tells me in Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil to give you an expected end”

Lord, cover us with your peace, grace and mercy; these things I pray in the mighty matchless name of Jesus.

Amen.
