Our Daily Prayer for Wednesday -Christy Calloway
Scripture & Prayer Submitted by: Christy Calloway
Theme: "Love Your Neighbor"
Heavenly Father, I come before you today with a heart of "love" and total adoration. You have been a great Father and great Friend. I "love" you with all that I am. I thank you for bringing sunshine and joy in my life. I thank you for my beautiful family. Thank you for all the things you have shared with me and taught me. You are a jewel I have found.
When you "love" someone, it means you have an affection for them or are fond of them and you enjoy being in their presence. "Love" is more of an action than an emotion. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to "love" with our whole being, heart, mind, and soul. God "loves" us unconditionally. Agape "love." He "loves" us no matter what we do, like a parent "loves" their child. He should always be number one in our hearts. He is in mine.
"Love thy neighbor" as thyself. To do that you really have to "love" yourself. Because if you don't "love" yourself you can't "love" anybody else truly. God wants us to be Holy like He is. He wants us to care and treat others with compassion, kindness and show mercy. Like He treats us.
During this pandemic I have had many kindnesses shown to me and witness a lot of kindnesses shown to others. Some neighbors were sharing meals. Other neighbors were taking turns shopping for each other. I have even dropped meals and drinks off to people who were sick. Homeless people were given mask, personal supplies and told where to find shelter from cold. All this is a form of "loving our neighbors."
Lord, please bless your people all over this nation. Give them ears to hear and a heart to receive what you have for them. Lord, right now I pray for all those that don't know you personally. I pray that they come to know you and have a relationship with you. Just give God a chance and watch him turn your life around. I pray for healing for the sick and shelter for the homeless. I pray that every household have food to eat. Lord, heal depression and anxiety. Heal minds and heal our land.
We ask all this in your precious Son Jesus name. Lord I praise you and thank you in advance for all you do and will do.
Amen and Amen
