Our Daily Prayer for Sunday - Rev. Maulin Vanderburgh
“So Samuel said, “When you were little in your own eyes, were you not head
of the tribes of Israel? And did not the LORD anoint you king over Israel? 18
Now the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, ‘Go, and utterly destroy the
sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.’ 19 Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did you swoop down
on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the LORD?” 20 And Saul said to
Samuel, “But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission
on which the LORD sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the plunder,
sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly
destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.” 22 So Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.”

Theme : Obedience.
The above-mentioned text spoke of the time when then King Saul of Israel, was rejected as king by Almighty God because of disobedience. King Saul was reminded of God’s requirements by the prophet Samuel: "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,"
Prayer
Our Sovereign God and Father, blessed be your Holy Name. From Everlasting to Everlasting you are God, and to endless years you will be the same.
I give you thanks for the privilege of being able to approach your throne daily, where I can seek your forgiveness and bask in your love.
Thank you for your word which instructs us, and makes us wise and obedient. Knowing what you require of us enables us to respond accordingly, and not as King Saul did. Instead of repenting for being disobedient he blamed the " people".
Father help us through your Holy Spirit to be obedient to your will and to your way.
We are reminded through your word the Bible of the consequences of disobedience:
Adam and Eve's disobedience brought Sin and Death to our world.
King Saul's disobedience brought forth his rejection as King by God.
I pray today that we will endeavor to be Obedient to you. I also pray for those reading this prayer that they will strive to be obedient to you and your word.
Thank you for hearing this prayer in the name of Jesus.

Ahora bien, el SEÑOR os envió a una misión, y os dijo: "Vayan y destruyan por completo a los

¿Por qué entonces no obedecisteis la voz del SEÑOR? ¿Por qué te abalanzaste hacia abajo?

En el cual me envió Jehová, y me hizo volver a Agag rey de Amalec; Tengo
destruyó por completo a los amalecitas. 21 Pero el pueblo tomó del botín,
ovejas y bueyes, lo mejor de lo que debería haber sido completamente
destruido, para sacrificar al SEÑOR tu Dios en Gilgal”. 22 Entonces Samuel dijo: “¿Tiene
Jehová se deleita tanto en los holocaustos y sacrificios, como en la obediencia a las
voz del SEÑOR?
He aquí, obedecer es mejor que sacrificar,
Y prestar atención que la grasa de los carneros”.

Tema : Obediencia.
El texto antes mencionado hablaba de la época en que el entonces rey Saúl de Israel, fue rechazado como rey por Dios Todopoderoso a causa de su desobediencia. El profeta Samuel le recordó al rey Saúl los requisitos de Dios: "He aquí, obedecer es mejor que sacrificar".
Oración
Soberano Dios y Padre nuestro, bendito sea tu Santo Nombre. De Eternidad en Eternidad eres Dios, y por años infinitos serás el mismo.
Te doy gracias por el privilegio de poder acercarme diariamente a tu trono, donde puedo buscar tu perdón y disfrutar de tu amor.
Gracias por tu palabra que nos instruye, nos hace sabios y obedientes. Saber lo que usted exige de nosotros nos permite responder en consecuencia, y no como lo hizo el rey Saúl. En lugar de arrepentirse por haber sido desobediente, culpó al "pueblo".
Padre, ayúdanos por medio de tu Espíritu Santo a ser obedientes a tu voluntad y a tu camino.
Se nos recuerda a través de su palabra la Biblia las consecuencias de la desobediencia:
La desobediencia de Adán y Eva trajo el pecado y la muerte a nuestro mundo.
La desobediencia del rey Saúl provocó su rechazo como Rey por Dios.
Oro hoy para que nos esforcemos por ser obedientes a ti. También oro por quienes lean esta oración para que se esfuercen por ser obedientes a ti y a tu palabra.
Gracias por escuchar esta oración en el nombre de Jesús.
