Our Daily Prayer for Saturday - Rev. Maulin Vanderburgh
Scripture & Prayer Submitted By: Rev. Maulin Vanderburgh
Theme: "Encouragement"
My Reflection~
Isaiah 41:10 is a great example of the encouragement found in God’s word. The book of Isaiah is filled with many encouraging verses reflecting on the power, love and providence of God. “Fear not, for I am with you,"God is always with us. He is with you, day and night, no matter what you’re going through. That is a promise and encouragement.
“Be not dismayed, for I am your God." Dismay is another word for distress, usually instigated by something unexpected or to lose courage. We are encouraged to be not dismayed or become apprehensive because the God we serve has all power and will protect us. “I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you,” God promises to provide us with strength, and with help.
When you’re feeling like you can’t go on, or you just don’t know how you’re going to get through the day; God will be right with you to provide you with the strength and help you need, to get through whatever you’re facing. “I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” God has promised to uphold (support) us. More than that, He promises to uphold us with His righteous right hand. That means, when you lose your footing, He’s going to be there to hold you up, if you’ll trust in Him.
Prayer~
Our Righteous and Eternal Father, blessed be your Holy name. You alone are most high over all the earth. Myriads of angels are bowing down before you crying Holy, Holy, Holy is The Lord God Almighty; who was, and is, and is to come. We thank you for this new day that you woke us up to see, great is your faithfulness Oh Lord.
We thank you for your word which encourages us in times of distress and anguish. We thank you that you hear our cries as we try to navigate the daily circumstances we face. We thank you that your word encourages us to put our hope and trust in you.
Psalm 46.10 (ESV) tells us to, "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” We are encouraged by your word in Deuteronomy 31.8 (ESV) which reminds us that you will never leave us or forsake us. 8) It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
Lord, we thank you for succoring us when we are weak, faint and discouraged. Help us to encourage one another and build each other up as we encounter various issues daily. Your word encourages us to do so: 11) Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. (1Thes.5:11 ESV)
