Our Daily Prayer for Friday - First Lady Ayileru Morton
Scripture & Prayer Submitted by: First Lady Ayileru Morton
Dear Lord,
We thank you for who You are. You are gracious and merciful; long suffering; abounding in goodness and in truth; keeping mercy for thousands; forgiving iniquity, transgression and sin. Lord, You keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants that love You and walk before You with all their hearts.
We pray for mercy in our weaknesses. Your word says, “The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.” (Jeremiah 17:9 MSG)
Like David we cry, create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Do not cast us away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, and uphold us by Your generous Spirit (Psalms 51:10-12).
Heavenly LORD, as a potter molds clay, we pray You take our broken hearts and make them whole again. Take our stony hearts and give us hearts of flesh. Remove the imperfections which pull us away from You and strengthen us so we can be committed to you with all our hearts.
Gracious LORD, give us hearts that love and believe in You; humble and repentant hearts that seek your face; hearts that trust You to direct our paths. Please make our hearts perfect towards You and show Yourself strong on our behalf during these perilous times, because we need You and are desperate for You.
Thank you merciful Father, we acknowledge, worship and praise you. In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
