The Peace Of Faith – Rev. Grace Reyes

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the [b]midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
— Psalm 46:1-3 NKJV
Be still and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
— Psalm 46:10 NKJV

To “Be Still” is to find peace in faith.  To be able to face struggles and sickness in your journey, in whatever form they may be packaged in and relax in “Him”.  To know that the God we serve is a God of wonders and miracles.

To be still is to recall to memory all of God’s unending goodness and Mercy, each one of us have testimonies of deliverance and healing.  It can be very difficult to focus on them when faced with a brand-new storm, it is of utmost importance to our deliverance that we do.

When we are able to utter the Psalmists words (vs. 1-3) God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble, therefore we will not fear…we can arrive at the peace of Psalm 46:10 with conviction knowing we have placed all of our faith in the God who has never forsaken us, who has proven over again that He is sovereign and all powerful.  That there is nothing impossible for Him.

To sink in or relax is to stop the struggle and find peace in faith.  We can trust that his promises are true and in His unchanging word there are promises that will be met.  We are then able to truly surrender in the storms knowing that with one whisper he can calm the raging seas of life.
