His Word Gives Authority – Rev. Grace Reyes
Daily Devotional submitted by: Rev. Grace Reyes
The most effective way to combat worry and anxiety is by meditating on God’s word.
The enemy wants nothing more than to whisper lies into our ears and cause us to believe them, but God has defeated the enemy and wants us to walk in that freedom. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” -Romans 8:31
As the morning greets us with a shining sun and warmth that penetrates the places we are inhabiting. We tend to be too anxious to hear God’s whisper that carries in its assurances that he will be at the very center of what you face during the day if, you will put your faith and trust in Him.
“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.” -Psalm 55:22
We can take the word of God in our mouths and speak it with AUTHORITY. We have been given spiritual authority to speak into the atmosphere in our homes, jobs and family and we can change the atmosphere. The one thing we have to bring is the confidence that we can do all things, in Christ who gives us strength. We must come from a point of victory because of who we serve and believe the word of God.
When the enemy comes against us, he comes like the verse says, “….as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8) He is not timid, nor does he have a problem with straight up twisting the truth as he relentlessly attacks us. He is devoid of compassion and will not give in, the weaker you become the harder he will hit.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
“His word will give us the peace we need to face the challenges of believing for all things. There are many ways to face them, but one is sure and steady and does not change and that is the word of God, he sits high and looks low. He is ever present and is working all things for our good. So, when you feel the physical manifestations of anxiety come against you make sure you allow yourself the confidence to face them in Him. He will not leave you nor forsake you. He will help you if you set your eyes on Him.
