Held Up By the Father - Lauren

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
— Isaiah 41:10

We have had enough time to think during this season of lockdown.
We have had enough time to think about what's important.
We have had enough time to reflect and determine where our priorities lie.

It is important to know how to handle difficulties in life and remind ourselves of The One who provides our strength. Sometimes we create a support system of a small group of people with whom we can relate as  balance questions in our mind or cope with sudden changes.

Now, where do you stand with the Word of God?

I often find myself searching the Scriptures to see God's position on what's happening in order to try to understand the global effect physically, spiritually, and economically. I am still trying to find the answers to my questions. But one thing I know: it is important to stay focused on the Lord so that we will experience less anxiety. The Bible tells us, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God," Philippians 4:6. This is a reminder that we should spend more time praying and seeking God instead of worrying.

We are also reminded of the importance of "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you," 1 Peter 5:7. We must make a conscious effort, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to keep our mind on God in order to experience His peace.

In every season of life, we are still able to garner strength from God's Word and our social support system.

Remember this, even though times have changed, God is still the same; He is constant. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

May we use this season of change as a time to increase our faith in God and remember that Jesus Christ came to see us through difficult and uncertain times. Let us continue to encourage each other and look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
