Christmas Season Prayer for Peace

O God, Creator of the universe,
who extends your paternal concern over every creature and guides the events of history to goals of salvation,
we acknowledge your Fatherly love when you break the resistance of Mankind and,
in a world torn by strife and discord, you make us ready for reconciliation.
Renew for us the wonders of your MERCY; send forth your Spirit,
that He may work in the intimacy of our hearts,
that enemies may begin to dialogue,
that adversaries may shake hands and peoples may encounter one another in harmony.
May all commit themselves to the sincere search for true peace which will extinguish all arguments, for charity which overcomes hatred, for pardon which disarms revenge.

Oh Dios, Creador del universo,
que extiendes tu paternal solicitud sobre cada criatura y orientas los acontecimientos de la historia hacia fines de salvación,
reconocemos tu amor de Padre cuando rompes la resistencia de la Humanidad y,
En un mundo desgarrado por las luchas y la discordia, tú nos preparas para la reconciliación.
Renuevanos las maravillas de tu MISERICORDIA; envía tu Espíritu,
para que obre en la intimidad de nuestro corazón,
que los enemigos puedan empezar a dialogar,
para que los adversarios se den la mano y los pueblos se encuentren en armonía.
Que todos se comprometan en la búsqueda sincera de la verdadera paz que extinga todas las discusiones, de la caridad que vence al odio, del perdón que desarma la venganza.
