Our Daily Prayer for Saturday - Candace Buchanan
Scripture & Prayer Submitted by: Candace Buchanan
Theme: "Joy"
Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to you giving you praise, glory and honor. During this holiday season we do not want to forget what you have done for us. I will bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all your benefits: Who forgiveth all our iniquities; who healeth all our diseases; (Psalms 103:2-3).
Father, many are sick and afflicted with Covid 19, have loved ones who are ill or have lost them to this virus. Many are disheartened because they are lonely, isolated and sometimes feel forgotten. Some will be alone for the holidays or loved ones will be missing from around the table. Others are struggling financially. As a result, many have lost their "joy". Father, restore the "joy" of our salvation. God, may we find comfort in knowing that you are still a healer. Give peace and renewed strength to those grieving loved ones lost. Remind your people that you are our source and that You, my God, shall supply all our needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 KJV)
Give unto us beauty for ashes, the oil of "joy" for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; *Isaiah 61:3 KJV). Father, help us to find "joy" in the true reason for the season. And as we approach the new year, give us hope in your future plans for us. Despite the uncertainty of what is to come, thank you for reminding us that you are Emmanuel and you are walking with us and are in us no matter what we face.
Thank you for that unspeakable "joy" that isn't based on what we see around us, but in the comfort of your promises. We will ever give you the glory and the praise due your holy and matchless name.
Amen.
