Our Daily Prayer for Friday - Bernardo Cruz

I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth.
— Psalms 121:1-2 NIV

Theme: "New Beginnings"

Thank you God, for bringing us through 2020 and into 2021; we wouldn't have been able to do it without your Love and protection in our life. You deserve all the glory and praise for all you have done and will continue to do for us.

As we anticipate what lies ahead of us in this "new" year help us to fix our eyes on you.  Matthew 6:3 says, "But seek first his kingdom and righteousness and all these things will be given to you". I pray 2021 will be the year of "New Beginnings" for us as individuals and also the church as a whole.  Let us put aside all those things that keeps us from drawing closer to you, help us put away our selfishness, our pride, our bad attitudes and everything that is NOT holy or righteous.

Help us to "press towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14 NIV) Helps us be reminded of what this pandemic taught us, to appreciate the small things and focus on what really matters. God, thank you for letting every season in our lives to be a "New Beginning" and the chance to sense your grace and mercy.  For you are the Maker of heaven and earth.

Create in us a grateful heart, in Jesus name.

Amen
