Choosing To Believe God's Promises - Rev. Grace Reyes

If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. 2 You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God:
3 Your towns and your fields
will be blessed.
4 Your children and your crops
will be blessed.
The offspring of your herds and flocks
will be blessed.
5 Your fruit baskets and breadboards
will be blessed.
6 Wherever you go and whatever you do,
you will be blessed.
7 “The LORD will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!
8 “The LORD will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
— Deuteronomy 28:1-8 NLT
But the LORD your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy the nations living there, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua will lead you across the river, just as the LORD promised.
— Deuteronomy 31:3 NLT

I have meditated on these scriptures, and they have convinced me that I have absolutely nothing at all to fear. The fear that at times shakes me to my core is a lie of the devil and an illusion that I have accepted as fact.

I am making a choice today. Every day we wake up and the first thing we get to do is choose. The word says he gave man freedom to choose. I can choose as I awaken what I wish to do, I can be thankful, and I can believe that He goes before me and walk in it.

When it was time to claim the promise land, the Lord was very specific in what He told Moses, “If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.” (Deuteronomy 28:1). Wow what a promise!

The catch is to obey, this is the part that I struggle with at times, I often feel uncertain of the direction that God is having me go, I pray and seek Him and sometimes all He says is, “Trust Me”, seems like an easy thing to do, but harder to put into practice.

If I focus on God’s greatness, if I focus on His promises as He gave to Moses, how can I not be bold? How can I not take up the stance that Joshua took and forge ahead believing that He has made my way clear to a victorious life.

I meditate today on the promises that God made to Moses, I meditate on the prophets of old and how the Lord blessed them, protected them, and set them forth to be advisors to kings and people. I rebuke the lies that the enemy whispers. He is a cunning adversary, I begin to bring into focus what the Lord has done for me, the promises I have seen and experienced for myself. I forge ahead with His word as my truth.

Let His promises water the parched places in your heart today, dare to list all the blessings of our Savior. Meditate on these and watch with awe as those memories unfold before you like a river of the Holy Spirit, engulfing your mind and heart, filling you with the courage to move forward in Him, unafraid of tomorrow because you know He is ahead of you, and making your path straight so that you come to purpose and are a vessel ready to do His will on the earth.

Make a choice today, choose to believe God at His word, seek Him out and His Holy council and the blessings will rain upon you as you begin to understand His heart and what it is you are here for.
