Our Daily Prayer for Saturday - Amanda Fernandez

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
— 1 Corinthians 15:21

“Resurrection”

Thank you, Lord, for your everlasting mercy and compassion. Without it, there is no hope for a brighter tomorrow and no relief from the sin or sorrows of this world. God, it was humanity that failed you in the garden of Eden and yet you loved us so much that you made a way to redeem us.

God, in this season of renewal, do not let us forget how much you have sacrificed on our behalf. Your only son was crucified not only to forgive us of our past transgressions but also our present ones. We can find forgiveness in these dark times because You gave us the light. You did the one thing no man or woman on Earth could ever hope to do; You gave us our eternal freedom from death, and we are so thankful you did.

May this prayer also act as praise, Lord God, for the fact that Jesus conquered death in Your name and for our sins, and rose again to cement his covenant with us; that no matter what we do, no matter the guilt we feel, or how far gone from God’s light we find ourselves, that Jesus will always be there. That we are children of God and that He loves us unconditionally. That we are no longer bound by sin or death but in fact, are conquerers of it in Jesus’ name! Amen.
